Challenge 138..Christmas In July!

Well Hello There,
Today it is my turn to choose the theme over at www.myshericrafts.blogspot.com and as we are still in July I thought we'd do Christmas In July.  Now I always say "I am going to start early" and I can tell you I am still doing Christmas cards Christmas eve!! So lets kick start this busy time for us today. The challenge is to make a card or project for Christmas but it must have layers..the more the merrier.

Here is my card,

It is a 5x7 tent fold in navy. The fist paper is raised on foam pads after I stitched around the edge. I used Romantic Rectangles for the red and pearl white. The snowflake boarder my BF Sandy gave me and I added red gems. The snowflakes are another SB die and to those I added a button. the sentiment is a Verve stamp and then I coloured in my cute image using Promarker pens, I mounted her on top of the rectangle as if she is sitting on the embossed line.

Now it is your turn to make a start on those holiday cards. Before you do pop over to the other design team members blogs and see what beauties they have created.

Food, food and more food. Challenge 137

Hi there,
Over at www.myshericrafts.blogspot.com it is the lovely Raquel's turn to pick this times challenge. After studying a website of unusual special days of the month she came to the decision that July has a lot to do with all types of food. So to that end she has asked us all to come up with a card that features any type of food cut or embellishment on.

My neighbour has his birthday this week and he owns one of those gas bar bi's, any excuse to light it up and he's there lol. so this image from www.mypapercrafting.com came in handy.

I had downloaded the paper I used some time ago from I don't know where (sorry), so using the colours in it I coloured in the bear image using my Promarker pens. I used Spellbinders to cut him out and the sentiment. The "celebrate" is a HOTP stamp which I touched up with a Promarker. I used glitter yellow card to mat and layer along with a touch of red and pearl black.

Thanks for stopping by, now I look forward to seeing what you make and link up with us.
