Happy Birthday Sherri Baldy!

Hello,

As a Bestie International Design Team Member it gives me great pleasure to wish a Very Happy Birthday to Sherri Baldy. As a big fan of the images she creates I'm happy to share with you a card I made for her using this lovely image which I purchased last year.

The card is a 6x6 white card blank topped with some Hunkydory heart card, I wrapped around some soft yellow seam binding. Then I cut out a doily from some pearl pink card along with a flourish in pale blue. I coloured my image in using Promarkers and matted her on to two layers. The sentiment is by Verve.
To finish off I added 3 by 3 dots using Creative Expressions pale yellow glue.

Happy Birthday Sherri,

Sue

# 193 Creepy Crawly Time

Hi,
Over at My Sheri Crafts it is the turn of talented design team sister Peachy to choose the theme and as we are nearing Halloween she is asking us to make a project which includes 'critters that creep, crawl or fly'. Here is what I came up with,

I made the card blank first out of orange as you can see, then matted on some Graphic45 paper. I loved that little image of the girl with her kitten and so decided to mat her on purple glitter card which meant I could use purple on her clothes somewhere along with the orange and zesty green.
I used two other Graphic45 papers to make the other mats putting down on a angle. I fussy cut a few images out of the background paper and added those to the card front. The pumpkin boarder and spider were cut out from dies loaned to me by Cathy who attended the last Merly Crop Thank You.
I added some perfect pearls in Pumpkin to the image corners and the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today, please pop over to see what the girls have made then show us yours.

Spooktacular Reminder for My Besties International

Hello,
I'm here to remind you all about the challenge running over at My Besties International blog. It is anything goes or you can join in the fun with a Halloween image. Which ever you choose it must be a Bestie image.

Here is what I have come up with this time,

It is a treat bag which I have covered using different papers from Graphic45. I have cut out a spiders web and ghostly boarder along with extra clocks to add dimension.
I put the little sentiment on to some purple glitter card allowing me to use the colour in my image. The sweet image 942 can be purchased here etsy.com/uk/shop/SherriBaldy I added a bow to the handles pulling in the colours.
Here is the back of the bag again covered in Graphic45 paper but to this I added the spooky tree by Tim Holtz and a scary spider. I can tell you from someone who hates spiders these are so real looking when they are laying on my work station!!

I added some white marker pen to one side of the tree and a few gems.

I stuffed the bag with tissue paper from the shop at Harry Potter World near London and on top I added lots of sweets.
Still time to join in with us and win fabulous images drawn by Sherri Baldy. Thanks for stopping by today, leave a word or two so I know you have been.

Jingle Belles Pink Christmas

Hi,
I follow the girls over on Jingle Belles and the challenge over there this fortnight is to make a PINK CHRISTMAS CARD or two and link up because for every card linked up the girls (Stephanie and Lauren) will donate each $2 to Breast Cancer Research Foundation now thats something to join in with don't you think.
I am hoping to make another before the challenge closes but here is my first.

It is a 5x7 white card blank and then after a little emboss I added the pearl pink paper. The image is so cute and she needed a little pink and lilac skating outfit, I cut her out using a X-cut die and inked the edges.
I decided to use the sketch over at viva-la-verve-october-sketch 1 to make this card. So I used silver mirri and lilac papers to make the ribbon banners embossing the shorter one then some pretty heart card to make the horizontal piece.

The sentiment is from Verve and I added a snowflake cut from a Spellbinder die. I hope you can play along for this great cause.

Sue.

I am linking this card up to viva-la-verve-sketch challenge too.

# 192 First Day of Fall

Hi,
Over at My Sheri Crafts it is my BFF Sandy's turn to choose the theme of our fortnightly challenge and she has come up with 'The First Day of Fall'. It is her favorite time of the year as she loves the colour of fall.

I decided to make a card but this time with no image! I knew I wanted to just put a sentiment in there so that is what I've done.

The card is a 5x7 card base in forest green. I made my own decorative paper by stamping a flourish and embossing in white, then added several layers of distress ink until I was happy. I matted that on to gold mirri tied a tartan ribbon around and added it to the card.
Then I printed my text and cut out using a SB die then adding mirri. I added a collection of gems to the top corners and a pile of leaves to the bottom.
Then just for Sandy I added the perfect adjective by Verve which I cut out twice.

Now it's your turn to show us your "fall" card.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Mojo Monday 468 challenge

Hi,
Thought I'd join in with the Mojo Monday 468 challenge using the great sketch put together by Julee.

Here is what I put together.

The card is a 6x6 cream card base. Covered with Christmas paper by Kaisercraft. The music paper I have had for some time and it is distressed I added the Pennant Die by Verve to the bottom using a dark red cardstock.
The image is Festive Wonderland by Daisy Mae which I cut out using my stitched die and mounted on to the card using foam pads. I added a tiny greeting and cut it out with Charming Ovals  die from Verve.
I added a touch of ribbon along with a bow of a similar type and another bow using bakers twine. A few drops of gold stickles and we are done.

Thanks for stopping by today.

My Besties International Challenge Blog Design Team First Post.

Hi and Good Morning,

I am so super excited to be able to announce that I am now on the Design Team for Besties International Challenge Blog. I have been following the challenges for some time now and never thought I'd get the chance to join such a super talented group of crafters able to share with you the lovely Sherri Baldy's images.

Today is the start of a new challenge for October which is Halloween. So for this challenge I chose a never before used by me precoloured image of (I call her) Professor Bestie, which can be found in mybestiesshop.com/store/p3559/May_color_printable_CVDV_1.html . I think she is mixing up some kind of Love Potion don't you think!

I made a 6x6 tent fold card blank out of this bright blue card I had in my stash which I thought matched her head scarf. Then to that I added sapphire crackle paper and then a small piece of Kaisercraft 13th Hour news print paper but inked in spiced marmalade first.
I chopped up a spooky tree by Tim Holtz and added that and hung a few pumpkins from it. Then I cut a couple of book sections from the Graphic45 Rare oddities paper to add to the side of Bestie then I added her after rounding the edges and inking. I don't know if you can tell but I 3'd her head and the bubbling flask (which I added glossy accents to).
At the bottom I added a pumpkin boarder which a very kind Cathy Knight loaned me to use at the recent Merly Impressions crop. I mounted it on black card and then ran some dotty ribbon round which I kind of thought looked similar to that on the image.
To finish off I cut a couple of sentiments from another Graphic45 sheet and matted those on black and added to the top and bottom.

I have to say I'm quite pleased with the way she came out today! Now it is your turn to join in to win some fabulous prizes. But first head over to the rest of the talented design teams blogs to see what wonders they have made for us all.

Leave a little message below to show you have been by I really love to read them.

I will also be entering this card in the following lovely blog challenges.

Eclectic Ellapu Vintage or Shabby Chic

My Goodness, I just don't know where the time is going this year!

As it is 1st October that means it is time for a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and this month we are asked to make a project in either the shabby chic or vintage style.

Here is mine

You know I don't know which style this falls in but I think it falls more towards Shabby Chic than the vintage.
This card is a 7x7 cream card blank which I added a piece of blue/green paper to but not before I stitched around the two corners with cream thread and distressed the edges. The pink paper has been distressed also and a blue dotty ribbon added before being placed down using foam pads, I also added the  scalloped trim die with the heart cut. The girls over at my sheri crafts will be pleased as I dusted off my Cricut machine (Hubby too if truth be known lol) and cut out the mat the image is sat upon.
I added a touch of my new find-cheesecloth under her first (still new at adding that so may have been a bit mean with it) you can find it here The ribbon girl then I added 3 pretty flowers along with a sprig or two. The butterfly is a left behind from another die.  Then I added my sentiment from the simply amazing stamp set and we were finished.

Now it is your turn to join in with us, so pick your theme and link up.

I am entering this card in the ribbon girls October challenge
